Kreyolang is a digital platform for learning Creole languages (Haitian Creole, Guadeloupean, Martinican, Réunionese, and other variants), developed by Christopher Jeanne EI (sole proprietor, operating under the trade name CMJ Group and the verbal trademark Kreyolang).
The platform offers a gamified learning experience inspired by the pirate universe: lessons structured by levels and thematic units, an experience-points (XP) system, league rankings, daily challenges, gem collection, and day streaks. The objective is to make Creole language learning accessible, engaging, and scientifically effective.
The service is available in a free version with limited access, and in a Premium version with full access to the entire learning content.
Use of Kreyolang is reserved for individuals aged 15 years or older (digital consent threshold in France, art. 7-1 of the French Data Protection Act, transposing art. 8 of the GDPR). By creating an account, the user confirms that they meet this age requirement. For minors under 15, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required prior to any registration.
The free account provides access to:
Free content may include non-intrusive advertising, displayed in a way that does not disrupt the learning experience.
The Premium subscription fully unlocks:
Kreyolang offers the purchase of Diamonds, a virtual currency usable exclusively within the platform, available in packs (500, 1,000, and 5,000 Diamonds). Purchasing Diamonds grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use them strictly within the Service.
Diamonds have no real monetary value, are neither refundable nor exchangeable for money, and may not be resold, transferred, or assigned to another user or third party.
CMJ Group reserves the right to modify the price, pack composition, or availability of Diamonds at any time. Diamonds already purchased and unused remain usable under the conditions in force at the time of purchase.
Diamond purchases follow the same payment and refund rules defined in Article 3 of these Terms. Pursuant to article L221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code, the purchase of Diamonds entails immediate performance of the digital content supply; the user expressly acknowledges waiving their 14-day right of withdrawal for this purchase, under the same conditions as those set out in Article 3.5 of these Terms.
The current prices — monthly and annual — are clearly displayed at the time of subscription, in euros all taxes included (TTC). Kreyolang reserves the right to change its prices subject to 30 days' prior notice sent by email to the address associated with the account.
Purchases made through the iOS app are processed exclusively by Apple (App Store) under Apple Inc.'s terms and conditions. Purchases from the Android app are processed by Google (Google Play Store). Technical management of Premium access rights is provided by RevenueCat. Kreyolang has no access to banking details at any time during these transactions.
Payments made on kreyolang.com are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). Kreyolang does not store any banking information of its users on its own servers at any time.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period. The user may cancel their subscription at any time via:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period. No partial refund is granted for the remaining period, except where required by applicable law.
Refund requests for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies. For purchases made on the website (via Stripe), any request may be sent to contact@kreyolang.com within 14 days of the purchase date, in accordance with the statutory right of withdrawal (art. L221-18 of the French Consumer Code).
However, pursuant to article L221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (immediate Premium access, lessons downloaded offline) when performance has begun with the consumer's express prior consent and express waiver of the right of withdrawal. By immediately accessing Kreyolang Premium content after a purchase on kreyolang.com, the user expressly acknowledges accepting immediate performance of the contract and waiving the right of withdrawal for that transaction.
All elements constituting the Kreyolang platform are protected by intellectual property and trademark law:
It is strictly forbidden to reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, sell, or commercially exploit any content from the platform without the prior written authorization of CMJ Group.
CMJ Group grants the user a personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use the platform, for strictly personal and non-commercial use.
If the user submits, publishes, or transmits content via the Service (comments, messages in community spaces, or any other content), they retain ownership of it but grant CMJ Group, for the duration of applicable copyright protection, a free, non-exclusive, worldwide, and transferable license to use, reproduce, adapt, and display such content as part of the operation, improvement, and promotion of the Service. The user warrants that they hold all rights necessary for the content they submit and agrees not to submit content that infringes the rights of a third party.
The user expressly agrees not to:
Any violation of these rules may result, without notice and without compensation, in the temporary suspension or permanent termination of the user's account.
Independently of the violation cases mentioned above, CMJ Group may suspend or terminate a user's access for a legitimate and serious reason, in particular in the event of suspicious behaviour, a proven risk to the security of the platform or of other users, or suspected fraud, with notification by email where possible. If such termination results from a proven violation of these Terms by the user, no refund is due for the Premium subscription or unused Diamonds. In other cases, CMJ Group shall refund the pro-rata remaining subscription period or the equivalent value of unused Diamonds.
Where the user uses the Service in manifest violation of these Terms or of the Community Guidelines (in particular fraud, unlawful use, infringement of a third party's rights), the user agrees to indemnify CMJ Group for the loss directly caused by such violation. This guarantee does not apply to claims resulting from a fault of CMJ Group, nor to the public-order rights the user benefits from as a consumer.
Kreyolang strives to keep the platform available 24/7, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, particularly in the event of scheduled maintenance, system updates, or force majeure events.
Without prejudice to the statutory guarantee of conformity applicable to digital content and services (art. L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), CMJ Group does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service, the total absence of errors or bugs, or compatibility with all devices, operating system versions, or existing configurations. The user acknowledges that occasional interruptions or minor technical anomalies may occur without this calling into question the Service's overall conformity.
The company cannot be held liable for:
CMJ Group is committed to making all reasonable efforts to ensure the quality, accuracy, and availability of the content provided. The Kreyolang platform is provided under a best-efforts obligation and not a results obligation: no specific level of linguistic proficiency is guaranteed after any given period of use.
While we take the greatest care in drafting, reviewing, and updating our lessons and lexicons, CMJ Group does not warrant that the content is free from typos, omissions, formatting errors, or linguistic inaccuracies.
As the Creole languages and African languages taught on the platform are living languages subject to regional, dialectal, and intergenerational variation, the content offered does not claim to be exhaustive or to represent all forms, vocabulary, or spellings universally. The presence of a regional form, an alternative spelling, or a dialectal variant does not constitute a lack of conformity within the meaning of article L224-25-12 of the French Consumer Code.
Similarly, the grammatical and syntactic structures presented in lessons reflect a reference usage identified by CMJ Group on the basis of recognized linguistic works. As the grammar of these languages may vary by region, generation, and context of use, the presentation of a particular grammatical rule or syntactic construction cannot be contested as an error or lack of conformity, unless a manifest contradiction with recognized linguistic sources can be demonstrated.
The user acknowledges and accepts that the application is subject to continuous improvement. Certain content (in particular audio modules) and certain visual features may be deployed progressively or be temporarily unavailable, without this constituting a lack of conformity. Isolated display anomalies (element overlaps, visual misalignments) are addressed as part of the normal maintenance process and do not entitle the user to a refund.
Educational content is designed using reference linguistic sources, with the assistance of algorithmic tools and artificial intelligence systems generating content proposals, as well as human verification contributions. The user expressly acknowledges and accepts that generative technologies may produce inaccuracies and that this production method is inherent to the service as offered.
Despite the rigour applied to their verification, occasional errors may remain. If an error is identified, the user is invited to report it in writing to contact@kreyolang.com, specifying the lesson concerned and the contested element. CMJ Group will review the report and may, at its sole discretion and according to its editorial roadmap, proceed with modifying the content within a reasonable timeframe based on the technical and editorial constraints in force.
The existence of an inaccuracy in the educational content, even if confirmed, does not give rise to any right to a refund, credit note, or early termination of a paid subscription. The sole remedy is the analysis and possible correction of the content within the framework of the platform's regular updates.
The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services (app stores, social networks, consumer mediator). CMJ Group exercises no control over such third-party sites and cannot be held liable for their content, their practices, or any damage resulting from their use.
CMJ Group's liability, if engaged, shall in any event not exceed the total amount paid by the user during the 12 months preceding the triggering event.
For subscriptions purchased through the App Store (Apple) or the Google Play Store, Apple and Google act as Merchant of Record: the sales contract is concluded directly between you and Apple or Google. Disputes relating to billing, refunds, or transactions are handled by their own services:
In accordance with article L616-1 of the French Consumer Code, for any dispute relating to the Kreyolang service (content access, account, personal data) or to purchases made on kreyolang.com (via Stripe), failing amicable resolution within 30 days of your complaint sent to contact@kreyolang.com, you may refer free of charge to the following mediator:
CM2C — Centre de Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice
Website: www.cm2c.net
Mediation is entirely free for the consumer.
These Terms are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute relating to their interpretation or performance, and failing amicable resolution within 30 days of notification of the dispute, the Paris courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
